We feel incredibly lucky to have found Playday. Our eldest joined the nursery at age three when we moved to the area and stayed until starting school, and our youngest started at 10 months and is now in the preschool room.
In comparison to our previous nursery, the difference has been huge. Playday feels like a home-from-home, rather than the corporate environment of our previous nursery that in hindsight prioritised parents instead of children. At PlayDay, the focus is always on the children—their happiness, wellbeing, and sense of belonging—and that really shows in everything they do.
Our eldest settled brilliantly and grew so much in confidence during her time there. She made a fantastic transition into school, and the school even commented on how strong the handover was, including the thoughtful support around her hypermobility.
For both of our children, we have always felt completely at ease. It genuinely feels like dropping them off with family. The team go above and beyond, not just in day-to-day care but in how they support us as a family. During some very difficult personal times, including caring for and losing the children's grandparent, their kindness and flexibility meant so much to us. When our youngest was taken into hospital one evening, the manager even offered to sit with me or babysit our eldest so my husband could be there too—something we will never forget.
The nursery is full of fun, creativity, and energy. One of our first visits was during a Mad Hatter’s tea party, which says everything about the atmosphere they create. The children spend lots of time outdoors and often come home covered in paint, mud, and water—happy, tired, and full of stories from their day, which is exactly what we wanted for them.
Most importantly, the staff clearly love the children and always put them first. We couldn’t recommend Playday highly enough.
